Charles Zachem III, DO, FASN

Managing Partner

From an incredibly young age, Dr. Charles Zachem knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life. He wanted to be a doctor just like his father. He grew up following and observing his father while he did his rounds in the hospital. He saw the relationships that his father formed and watched him spend time talking with his patients, nurses, and other doctors. Dr. Zachem loved seeing the connections made with patients and how these relationships helped provide the highest level of care. He decided to become a nephrologist after he saw a kidney biopsy for the first time. The intricacies appealed to his problem-solving mind. Since then, he has been continually fascinated by the complexity of the specialty, and driven by the opportunity to build long-term connections with patients to help them. Dr. Zachem loves the opportunity to continue learning about the field and focusing on patients. He chose to work at Kidney Care because he admired the practice’s dedication to patient-centered care.

Dr. Zachem believes in patient education and honesty. He is dedicated to creating an environment of clear communication so patients understand their health. He always puts his patients first and looks out for their overall well-being.

Married and a proud father of four children, Dr. Zachem enjoys hiking, skiing, and sailing in his spare time. He attends St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and is passionate about supporting arts and healthcare in the community.
